    BIOS won't update

I have a HP/Compaq NX9010 & can't update the BIOS. When I insert the boot floppy with the new BIOS on it I see DOS start up & then get the message 'Bad or missing command interpreter.' Then it just sits there with the cursor blinking. Any ideas of how to fix this?

    Maybe thats an Omen ?

Download the file again and make a new floppy.

Or use the Winflash method if using Win 2000/XP http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...oad/23039.html

Thanks for the reply. However, the Winflash method isn't an option because the file is no longer available. When you click on the link to download you get the message '.... The system cannot find the specified file.' Now what??

    Hmmm Omen #2 ?

All the other HP Winflash bios are still avalible except that one.

Boot into your bios, check all the settings and make sure there isn't a setting that write protects/password protects the bios. If there is then disable the setting and try the DOS flash again.

Why do you want to flash the bios ?

    I'm waiting for Omen #3
