    Everything corrupt on WinXp

    Hi Dear Folks!

A few weeks ago my computer crashed and i couldn't start WinXp. I had to repair it with the Windows cd. Luckily it worked. Everything was fine for a while until it began to crash again. I used the previous method to solve it several times. I don't know what made these crashes but I changed anti-virus programs and firewall from to the heavier ones.

After a while some programs stopped working. I can't see the system tray (systray doesn't show on task manager), internet explorer closes down after opening ( though I can use Mozilla). Sometimes I can't paste anything. Forget dragging a file to another map. The explorer search shows only the dog picture, with no bars where you can type.... and God knows what else there is

I don't why it is doing this. I thought it might have happened because my brother messed up with msconfig. But even if I look try to manually start - say - systray, it doesn't work.

Please help me, I am desperate.

Have you got the latest drivers installed for your graphics card?

Do you have any custom styles installed?

Do you have any restore points you can revert back to prior to when your problems started.

Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Sytem Restore

    Hi again

I tried to start the system restore in msconfig
But I got this message (translation)

Systemrestore cannot protect the computer. Restart and start system restore again

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Sytem Restore.

If you don't have a start button press the windows key on your keyboard and that will open the menu.

I tried that. It doesn't work since systray isn't on.

Boot into Safe Mode (typically accessed by tapping F8 during boot) and see if you can run System Restore from there. At this point it's gonna be a long shot but you can try.
