Office shortcut bar as permanent taskbar
NOT SURE IF THIS SHOULD BE HERE OR IN OFFICE THREAD?
Just loaded Office XP Pro and attempted to incorporate the floating shortcut bar as a permanent taskbar at the foot of the screen - to no avail.
Accomplished this previously with Office 2000 (I think) though after much head scratching, but cannot remember how.
Tried every trick I know but it won't work. Is this possible with the XP version? And if so how?
All I want is the icons (Word, Excel etc) displayed above (or even below) my existing toolbar showing all my drive designators (Floppy (A) WIN_XP(C) etc. etc).
Believe it's possible having done it previously, but stuck so far.
Thanks in anticipation

Start > Programs > Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar.
Select Yes in the dialog box if you want the shortcut bar to be there permanently.
Then drag it to your preferred location.
Right click and empty space on the shortcut bar to get further options.

Don't want the official dragable Office bar rev as it obscures screen real estate and seems to constantly move after re-boot. Wished to set up a bottom of screen taskbar that incorporated purely the icons for Word, Excel etc and nothing more. As stated tried various methods for this and no joy - created new folder for said icons and moved (and renamed) accordingly but to no avail. Tried 'drag and drop' to a blank 'new' bar etc, still won't work.
