Email spoof? - [FIXED]

My fiance has an email account through MSN along with my account.She couldn't access her home page today,but she opened her email tab and started her usual routine of eliminating the junk and checking for personal stuff.She says she opened something from Sesame street productions and that's it.She tries to go to her MSN home page and a popup comes up saying we are infected blah,blah the usual,then she clicks on home again and (I saw this somewhere else) a porn page comes up with the message about finding cookies and temp files about animal bestality blah blah and to click to eliminate any prosecution.Isn't there some info somewhere about this hijacker?

Yup, sounds like your machine has been hijacked.

You'd better go to the adware/spyware forum and start with the sticky "Eggheads spyware removal"...

Oh - by the way... One of the best places to start is to start up in safe mode with network and run Ewidos free online scanner/remover, found at http://www.ewido.de (look at the left side for "free scan").

This is the odd thing about the jacking.My MSN profile was not jacked,and her's was.MSN explorer is web based so it may be tougher to spoof.I fixed the problem by 1st trying to go to internet options and look to see what the default home page was.All was normal there,so I went to settings in MSN explorer to the change your home page section and there was the culprit in the url box.I deleted it and set the default page and all is well.But how did it get there?Well I guess what happened was my sweety saw that she could fill out a form including name address and e-mail,so she can recieve a free sample of Oil of Ole cream.So after filling out the form and click to send nothing more went on with the transaction except the jack.She just remembered that piece.I'm guessing that could have been the source,because I'm not sure how that type of Adware works.From other readings,Cool Web Search was to blame.Seems to be gone though.
