Chinese characters ?

First;
is eggheads instruction page still valid, looks likis a couple of yrs old ?

My problem, is when I go to a web page, occasionally it all comes up
with Chinese characters.....


Any ideas what this might be ?

Also, don't know what browser you're using but where ever (prolly View settings) the Character Encoding is, make sure Auto Detect or Chinese is off.

I'm running Firefox, 1.5.06

I'll check the settings although whatever happened just started.
I haven't changed my settings, so why should it just start doing this.

Also, some of the sites/pages that I go to, and this hapens on
are typical sites that I've always gone to, like my email at hotmail/yahoo .....

are you browsing in china? have you checked your page encoding settings? the page you listed came up fine for me.

Nope, not browsing in China.

Like I said its random.

Just going to my yahoo mail, sometimes it comes up like that.

I'm guessing its Chinsese, looks it, could be Korean etc ........ for all I know.
