    Trade up

I'm looking to trade up from my Acer 521TE laptop to another used laptop. The used laptop is the Gateway 7330gz notebook P4.I'm getting $225 for my 600mhz system and the Gateway is a 3.06 P4 HT,and is $550.Of course the Gateway has the intergrated wireless but only has a 64mb shared video. The Acer has 8 mb dedicated video but takes forever to load Windows.I read some good reviews and some not so good ones. One bad had to do with a back light being defective, another had to do with the P4 running too hot.All comments are welcome.Whadda ya think?

    Thumbs up

Well I moved on the deal and I'm using it right now. It's used and not too bad cosmetically.Underneath looks tampered with ie the screws have been out and it has a refurb Gateway sticker on the memory cover(which has paint scraped off most of it).The display is excellent and almost looks brand new, keyboard is the same way.No disks came with it,just a Windows license and preloaded os.All latest drivers are loaded and a 1 yr. paid subscription to NAV(oh boy). The second only other Intel I've owned was the P3 600 laptop that I just traded up for,but I'll tell you by todays standards this P4 HT is very fast. The only thing is all of my hardware detection progs are reporting the cpu as dual core, and I don't think it is.Even in device manager it's recorded as 2 cores.Everything else works except I haven't tried the media card reader because I don't have any of the media formats.Battery life seems terrible at 1.13 hrs. on a full charge, but I am going to calibrate the battery to get a true reading. The built in wireless gets good reception around the house. All in all for $325 and my old machine,I'm happy.
