Restarting Win XP question...
Was wondering if there's a way to restart just windows in XP. In 98 SE, I just held the Shift key while restarting. This has no effect in XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

This is the first time that I have heard this request. By your question are you wanting to load only the OS and no other programs?

I know this one, it's like rebooting your PC without gong thru the BIOS screen and memory countdown, in other words like just rebooting Windows alone. I'm afraid I have not come across methods for XP to do this unlike Windows 98.

If what Conan is saying is what you want maybe just logging off and then back on would do the trick for you......
XPtuneup has this tip #127 you can try........

Thank you, Tinker/Conan. That did the trick. It's the first time I've ever used the "Log Off" selection.
Thanks again,
