HELP!! "Load error, press any key to reboot" on startup

hi, today when i turned on my laptop, the message "Load error, press any key to reboot" suddenly comes out and the screen was black wiht that messege on it. after i did many researches , i found out that it has something to do wiht norton goback tool.
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...&seg=hho&tpre=
so i decided to try their solution, but my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive.
then i saw this post by booger about fixing the mbr, i wanna know if theres a
way to save my laptop without getting the preivious stuff on the laptop getting
    deleted.

    thx alot!!

    Are you using XP?

Presumably your laptop has a CD/DVD drive.
Restart your machine and put your XP CD in the drive. Boot from the CD and follow Big Booger's instructions in the first post here.

There's never any guaranty things can't go wrong.

That being said, if you do what BB's post says its safe to do so 99.9% of the time. It doesn't touch the data, just fixes the "Master Boot Record" on the HD.
