    I have lost space in my Hard Drive

    in My hard drive Says that in using 17GB but when i go and select all the folder in the drive says that i'm only usin 12GB so i have 5Gb los in files or something


    My spacification
    Dell Optiplex gx240
    P4 1.6
    768Ram
    PNY Gforce4 ti4400
    40GB Hard Drive

    not sure if this is the case but alot of companies have a seperate partition that they store an image in

    I think you've got it right there Phish. PC manufacturers lately do not supply a recovery disc but instead have a "hidden" image on your hard drive to restore your system to the state when you first bought it.

    ok not with that out of the way can you fdisk it and make one big drive if you will change the os for good. Or does it have some other company crap that needs to be there...because I reformatted my friends drive and did not del this HP partition because I didn't want to screw anything up

    People I only have one partition in my Hard drive and this problem exclude the recovery because it's come in a CD, help or i I will have to fomart my disk,

    hello
    open windows explorer
    goto tools/folder options/view

    select show hidden files and folders
    uncheck hide protected operating system files

    you should find your missing space


    now get this program to see whats using all that space
