    Sending email

    OK....
    Here goes....
I've set up my daughters broadband connection with Sky, but she wants to keep her dial-up account with Wanadoo...
    My question is,....
Is it possible to send (OE) Wanadoo email through her Sky broadband connection?
She receives email into OE for both....

    Cheers

You may be able to send, although some ISP's require that you are connected through their service.

In the Wanadoo account settings for OE keep the incoming mail server (POP3) as the default wanadoo setting and change the outgoing (SMTP) server to the sky one which i think is smtp.sky.com

But dont forget you'll still have to pay for the dialup account (even just to use the email address)

Not necessarily cash. A lot of ISP's over here have "pay per minute" accounts for dial up so you only pay for what you use. If you can get your mail via a different provider you don't pay.

I have a couple of old dial up accounts, from my early internet days, where i can still get their mail via my current ADSL provider.

Ahh.. that's very handy Rev... I'll see if i can switch my dialup plan to something simiilar. I'm only keeping it for the email address (dont you hate when everyone knows your ISP adress rather than hotmail/gmail etc..) cheers.
