    phish got a new job

Starting my new job oct 1st. No more helpdesk. Whoohoo! Going to a small consulting firm that implements sharepoint to big corps. Going over there as a jr. sys admin/desktop engineer/ network admin. So hopefully gonna learn tons. Have my last week as a helpdesk monkey then actually gonna have people looking at me to know something. Kinda scary. Had to wait to post the news till it went public at work cause didnt want stripe to snitch on me.

well since its a smaller company it doesnt have the financial capital like my old job so things are alittle rigged. My buddy that got the job said that my first project is to get the network straightened out and get active directory cleaned up so looks like the headaches will be the same without all the political crap that a larger corp brings, but with the money I'm gonna be making, and the knowledge that I will learn will make it worth it.

One big difference: at your old job "headaches" meant "idiots who should never be allowed within 500 yards of a computer, because they screw things up, don't listen when you tell them how to fix it, and then blame you."

Come to think of it, that pretty much describes a lot of MSFT tech support.

Wisdom is a learned state of being. Go forth and share your knowledge with the masses. In sharing wisdom grows to the next level of self awareness. You could be a senior soon....

Congrats. Actually, I wish you have lots of headaches.....seriously....It is the best way to learn. Mainly in semi small companies, where things are half way done. Then in 5 years, when you look for a new job you will have a ton of new skills that more organized companies will want and you get an extra salary increase. Or you can go from there to IT manager.
Good luck with your new job. If you need a net admin here in the east coast send me a line. I am in much need of a job
