Welcome to the forum anocin. Please post often as we love a challenge.

Are you over clocking the CPU? This could have an effect on the AGP slot as the same bus clock could be used for both the CPU and the AGP timing. If you are try returning to the factory default setting.

You may have a memory problem. If your 256 meg is in 2 128 meg sticks try removing one and testing your system again. If the problem is still there reinstall the stick that you had out and pull the other stick and test again.

If neither proves to be the problem please post again with more information about your conditions and system.

i have not overclocked the graphic card or the processor, and the memmory is in 1 stick and it's tested for fault.

it's Win Xp pro as Os, and i haven't been messing with it yet

and the graphic driver is the nVidia 40.41b i know it's a beta but it's the best i've tried or the one working best!!

I would personally try a older more stable driver. and test the games. but del the driver completely before installing the older one...so there is no leftovers.

If you go to Start> My Computer> Properties> Advanced> Startup & Recovery> Settings , you'll see a box Automatic restart . un-check that box & the next time the crash happens it won't reboot on it's own plus it'll give ya a error message with the error.

Then we'll know for sure what the error is...probley NV_4 infinite loop though or IRQ not less or equal....??

This is series of PM's that I had with anocin this morning in an effort to expedite solving his problem. The issue is not totally resolved as of yet however.
Anyone have any ideas for anocin?

(Tinker) If you are getting total freeze it must be the video card that is locking up. What are your BIOS setting for the AGP?

I juz got a blue screen when i played!!!

    this is what it said:

    PNF_LIST_CORRUPT

    Technical info:

    *** STOP: 0x0000004e (0x00000099,0x0000d29c,0x00000001,0x00000000)

hope u can use it for something!!

i will go check my bios setting be back in 10 min

    4]
    here is my agp settings:

    Graphics aperature 64mb

    AGP Capability 4x

    AGP fast write Capability enabled

Video memory cache mode UC What is USWC???

    Memory hole at 15m-16m disabled

theese i dont know if u need!!

    Ma/cmd leadoff timing default

    Dram turn around timing Normal

    Dram read latency timing Normal

primary VGA bios AGP VGA card

    try look at this

(Tinker) Change graphics aperatuer to 128mb and video memory to USWC……………
    5]
i will try that!!! but my Gforge4 is only 64 mb mem!!!
    what is USWC??????

I did a search and this is all I came up with...

    Windows Search

    NTFSD Archive

There's nothing listed anywhere under XP...all things for NT & 2000 , I'm sure the fix is the same ????

My suggestion is to try the 30.82 whql Nvidia drivers.

    from fastgames link

    To troubleshoot this behavior:

Run hardware diagnostic tools that are provided by your computer manufacturer.

Disable all file system filter drivers, such as backup utilities, virus scanners, or firewall software.

View the following Microsoft Web site to verify that the hardware and the drivers for the hardware are compatible with Windows 2000:
    http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp

*If you receive this error message randomly, or when you try to start a program, remove extra memory or have the random access memory (RAM) in your computer tested. This behavior may occur if you have bad RAM.*

    look into the ram

    borrow some from a friend
    if you cant

try some of these memory test programs
    http://www.pchardware.ro/Download/index.php?catid=4
    i suggest goldmemory

    let me know your results
