Easy way to grab addy book from Outlook?

I know I've done this before using something....but hell if I remember.

How do I grab my contacts from Outlook (folders too if possible) and put it in Outlook on my new laptop?

I know it's a .pst file.......but as I recall I had problems or didn't do it right before.

Can't you export it from Outlook using File, Export?

Yep Conan has the right idea. You should be able to export the contacts. Use the File->export wizard, and select pst file, and then only tick Contacts folder in the folder listing.. if you have subfolders within contacts, ensure the checkbox "subfolders etc" is selected.

Then you can copy / paste the pst file to your new pc... then ...you do a file->import to load up the new contacts

if its Outlook 2003/2k7 I dont think its in a PST. I believe the file has an OAB ext. and can be found in your documents and settings\username\local settings\microsoft\outlook. granted this is from memory so I could be wrong. Also you need to go into folder options and un-tick hide hidden files and system files.

You are probably right Phish, an OAB is usually the actual address book file.

However, from inside outlook 2003/2007, there is the file->export wizard to pst file
