    Dejavu...

I think the downgrade option is pretty good... we bought a couple of new VISTA laptops at work, but ordered the extra XP media... we downgraded to get legacy apps and devices to work - but then have the option to go back to VISTA after SP1

I'm also ok with using Vista on my laptop and desktop. I guess we're in the minority who have systems that have relatively few/no glitches.

Yeah I think some people blame Vista when it's actually the user who's the problem. I've noticed there's a certain type of person who always seems to have problems with computers and stuff. What is it they say? A good workman never blames his tools?

There are a lot of people who do not like Vista. There are a lot of people who went back to XP. There are a lot of people who put a 2nd operating system on thier Vista PC. They can not be dumb to do that.

Dell and another PC company went back to putting XP and Linux on some PC's because a lot of people have trouble with Vista.

I had Vista when it was 3 months old. The number of Vista compatible programs could be counted on 1 hand. Now Vista is over 1 year old. There are a lot more programs for Vista. I could not even install my printer software in Vista.

There is no right or wrong answer for VISTA... it's definitely a mixture of results, my laptop only works well with XP, but my new desktop loves Vista Ultimate... and same situation for many people... NOW, talking with a few MAC PRO users, and they are finding the same issue between Tiger and Leopard... with many bugs, drained batteries etc I think both Apple & Microsoft are finding it difficult to satisfy new customers... there has been too much change in hardware & software features over the last 7 years!

You almost have to purchase new PC + periphials with a release date later than when Vista was released, for some, you'd better wait to buy hardware after Vista SP1 is released Merry XMAS
