Mac problem (couldn't see a dedicated forum)

My friend has some sort of Mac laptop running OS X 10.4, with a Lexmark X1150 all-in-one printer/scanner.

One day the printer just stopped working. Apparently this is due to an automatic update to the OS around December last year, perhaps from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11? It seems several USB devices were no longer supported after this (we have checked the printer still works on other systems).

Macs aren't my area but I said I'd take a look and this seemed a good place to start. So far I've heard of nasty solutions to reinstall 10.4, and prevent the problematic update getting installed - not a great fix IMO.

    Anyone got any ideas?

What does a Mac have to do with "Mobile Tech"?

So if it had been a Mac desktop, running the sameOS and with the same printer, where would it go then

LOL some peoples kids; it most likely would have gone to the hardware forums. But either way it would not be in general chat

As LD said, in Hardware, either way not General Chat.

That's the end of the matter. Thank you.

Have you tried any of the solutions here or here.

The Lexmark drivers page says that above 10.3 is not supported.

Apple just released a slew of update patches.. try Software Updates, else, like Rev suggested, the Lexmark might be obsolete...sorry.
