    New Monitor

Hey guys, the hardware bug finally bit me again and I bought a new Samsung 940BW Plus 19 inch wide screen LCD monitor. It was priced at the equivalent of $ 238.330 US Dollars. Can you imagine around 7 years ago I bought my first 15 inch AOC LCD for $ 550 US Dollars! This thing looks huge compared to my old 15 inch LCD! I used the DVI connection to hook it up (I don't really know what's the advantage compared to the usual Analog connection). Native resolution is 1440x900 and the response time is 4 ms. Here's an actual picture and link to the specs:

That desk pictured above is all the space that I have so dual monitors aren't an option. I'm still amazed at how this one looks! Downside is my work monitor will look pretty depressing after getting used to this one.

Grats on your new monitor Conan.
    Looks sweet.

I noticed a difference when i hooked up my DVi lead.
Everything appeared to look a little pixelated without it.

However I'm not sure if that was just in my head or real.

Grats there Conan! Definately a nice buy.

I agree with the DVI connection. I only assume that it improves quality on high res/dvd movies. Not sure though since I don't watch too many on my PC.

The colors on this monitor seem to have come alive! I don't know if it's from the DVI connection or from the monitor's "close to actual color" performance according to some online reviews that I've read.

A few more came up in Google but sometimes it's the older all black model that's reviewed.

Well my gear is getting pretty old and the US Dollar has depreciated by quite a bit versus our local currency making computer parts more affordable these days.

looks great! I have been using multi monitors for a while now with work and you will be shocked by my setup

Thats a projection screen on the wall about 120'' inch and two 22 inch hp w2207's and an AG Neovo F-419 19" LCD Display in the middle. I have two but have no room to put the other 19inch up.

My Daytek DT3220 32 LCD TV stopped working or I would have that sucker in the middle and the two 22inch's on each side lol when I move I think the two 19inchs would fit on the ends .

I use 3 computers one is a PVR and the other 2 are for work and they are connected to each other using a program called maxivista.

It basically lets you use your mouse and keyboard to control 3 computers or you can use the other computers monitors to act as an extension of your computer. Brilliant software.

    crazy I know.....

When I move I will use them mostly for audio studio recording software and of course work and watching movies. don't play games much at the moment so I have not created an awesome gaming video card setup. Just use the one 8600gt and an x300 and an xt2000 ati.
