Fourteen days without electricity due to the ice storm that hit Arkansas and Kentucky. It was the third day before we could get out of our driveway. Since I live in rural Arkansas with a well for water, we had to use water from hot tub for bathing and flushing toilets. A really fun two weeks.

I live in an area considered "rural" but at least is not as bad as you describe it. Just when it snowed it took me 45 minutes to reach the high way that usually I get there in 10. I had to wait a whole day to get the roads plowed
that sucks. I hear you the weather here dropped now to 62F.

Fires are pretty serious matter, and it is so easy to start a fire for something so stupid. Where I grew up is a dry area and wild fires are common and easy. I lost a friend in a fire, and he was actually with the wild fire section (the fire changed direction suddenly). I know families that have lost all of their fields in fires as well.
Well, this is why I like delaware, not too cold, not too hot.
Yeah, they've found a suspect for one of the many bushfires (and alleged child pronographer - sicko!!)
The police have asked the public not to go 'too crazy' at the court hearing! People have been suggesting to drop him from a helicopter in the middle of the fire and get him to try to escape!
I just hope everyone is safe around the world in these extreme weather periods!
