Nokia Announces Windows Netbook
The growing Nokia-Microsoft collaboration is getting a little bigger with Nokia's announcement Monday that it will debut a Windows-based netbook called the Nokia Booklet 3G.
The Booklet 3G will begin life with a few impressive features -- a 12-hour battery life and a weight of just under a pound -- although final specs will have to wait until September 2 at Nokia World in Stuttgart. The netbook will also sport a 10-inch glass HD-ready display similar to the screen offered on Apple's aluminum MacBooks.
The Booklet 3G will be powered by the ubiquitous Intel Atom processor and the device will have Wi-Fi and 3G/HSPA capability.
"A growing number of people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility," said Kai Oistamo, Nokia's vice president for devices, in a statement. "We are in the business of connecting people and the Nokia Booklet 3G is a natural evolution for us."
