Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005 CD Key for Windows XP home

I was wondering if the Windows XP Media Center Edition CD Key will work for Windows XP home edition.

i assume not. but was just wondering because my aunt has the windows media center edition cd key on her laptop, but does not have the disk anymore.

i was just going to use my XP home disk and use her media center edition key if that were possible.

that edition is spendy too, so if it dont work, i guess she's out of luck

    thank you in advance.

If you still have the valid key, you may be able to call/email Microsoft and be able to purchase or at least cover the cost of postage for new CDs.

I think Vista was the first M$ O/s to have all the versions on the same DVD (while used for upgrading purposes, could be used to install on other computers if they'd lost their own Copies - but still using the their own Serial)... get what I mean?

Little surprised that some computers actually had XP MCE, wasnt your typical mainstream purchase option.
