    Remove name from Windows Mail

When I open up Windows Mail in Vista, and then type a "M" in the "TO" box, all the people
that I ever wrote to, that start with "M" show up. (their addresses etc.) How can I remove one address from there, or even all of them.
That email address is NOT in my contact / address book. Thanks, Mike

Would this happen to be connecting to a gmail account?

Rik...NO, I am just typing in the letter "M" in this case, in the TO box, and all the peoples addresses that start with the letter M show up. I need to delete one persons address from coming up. I tried Right clicking on the address etc, but I do NOT get an option to DELETE the address. I can hit the DELETE on the keyboard, and it dissappears, but it comes back again if I jusy type an "M" there.

In Windows Mail go to Tools > Options. On the Send tab uncheck "Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing".
    Click Apply.

oh oh... saving email address can't be fraught with spousal disaster Probably also check "Recent Documents" from the start menu, not sure if that tracks what emails were sent too!

Thanks for the head up, cash_site.
I like that "Automatic complete email addresses feature" but when I
"CHECK" that tab, it brings in that email address that I want to delete.
is there a way to just delete that address and keep the others ?
That email address does NOT appear in my address book, so I don't know why
Windows Mail still remembers it ???

    Try this:

To delete the address you need to fool Windows Mail into thinking you still want to send the email to that address.

When you start typing highlight the address from the auto complete list and press Del.

After deleting that address keep the new email open and address it to yourself. Click Send.

Thanks Reverend. That worked. I can keep the autocomplete feature turned on, and now it does NOT bring up that email address I deleted.
