    Linux Mint 7 "Gloria"

Linux Mint is based on (and compatible with) Ubuntu, with integrated media codecs. Mint also has design differences from Ubuntu, including:

-A distinct user interface, including the custom Mint menu.
-The Mint Tools, a collection of system tools designed to make system management and administration easier for end users.
-As of Linux Mint 6 'Felicia', a Windows installer is included as one of the installation methods. mint4win, a rebranded version of Wubi. It is activated when the CD is inserted into a computer under Windows, providing AutoRun is enabled.

Mint 7 is a solid and easy linux system for "first time" linux users to try. I installed it on two machines. Both installs were without any negative events.

Pentium 3's with very standard internals is simple... what about the AMD chipsets and any Creative Sound add-in cards... man, now that was BSOD honey-trap!

You had problems with Mint? I'm surprised... of course I use "real" computers! (yes read into that -Intel-)

I can now report a problem with Mint. Installed it on my notebook which came with Vista Home Premium. It was a clean installation. It ran very slow and I never succeeded in configuring wireless connection to internet.

Broke my heart, but I went back to Vista yesterday.
