The latest chapter of racing action series Driver has been delayed until 2011, publisher Ubisoft revealed in a quarterly earnings call.

In a press release, Ubisoft stated the "competitive market at Christmas" prompted them to move Driver: San Francisco's release from the holidays to the fiscal fourth quarter, the first three months of 2011.

The game features detective John Tanner as he chases down a crime lord on the streets of San Francisco. An accident gives Tanner the ability to instantly jump between different cars without ever getting out of the car.

Ubisoft also revealed first-quarter sales surged 93%, citing a solid debut for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction and the performance of older titles such as Just Dance and Assassin's Creed II.
