I am surprised there are no replies to this article about AdAware 9 Free ??
Anyway, I always thought that Adaware was for stopping and cleaning malware etc., but I see the word antivirus used frequently in the articles. Is this Adaware 9 Free an antivirus AND an malware remover. If so, maybe I should replace Microsoft Security Essentials with this product. Thanks, Mike

Thanks Reverend for the reply. Since this Adaware is also an antivirus, I think I will disable Microsoft Security Essentials, and install Adaware and use it for a while. I plam on keeping CCeaner, and Malwarebytes on the computer for my weekly scans. Mike

OK, I downloaded and installed Adaware 9 Free. I did a full scan, and got all the updates, and I beleive everything is fine. If I open Adaware, there are three main categories. WEB UPDATE, Status OK, Last Update 9/17/2011...Scan System Status OK Last scan 9/17/2011, and Ad Watch Live Real time protection OK However if I go into Msconfig, Startup, I di not see Adaware listed there like I used to see MSE, and AVG before that. Is this normal ?? Thanks, Mike

I believe it is started as a service via AAWService and therefore is not a startup entry in msconfig.
