Google has inadvertently posted details of changes to Gmail designed to offer greater flexibility in determining the layout of the Gmail interface.

The video explains a number of updates, including improved customisation for searches, new user profile pictures for conversation threads, and the ability to resize the mail and chat windows.

"We've completely redesigned the look and feel of Gmail to make it as clean, simple and intuitive as possible," the company said in the video. "In addition, the new Gmail adapts nicely to fit in any size window."
