    Vintage joystick

I dusted off my ol' MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro in order to dust off some old flying games I've been thinking about lately.

I installed the drivers and software that I used to use on this computer and it opens up fine, the stick is recognized and operating but when I try to use the software to record the button schemes for my games, I get a error pop-up that reads, "An exception occurred while trying to run "Shell32.dll.Control_RunDLL joy.cpl."

So far I've gotten nothing useful fromt he searches I've done. Is there a way to move the file in question further to the front of the folder where the program can "see" it better?

Try disabling DEP for that software.
