    Linux Mint (Maya)

Linux Mint (Maya) also know as Linux Mint 13 was released on May 23. I finally got around to installing it last night. This time around I chose a clean install.

I will include time estimates below for each step. Estimates may help in deciding whether it is worth the time required. First go to the LM download page to download the version you need. I chose MATE 64-bit. It took about 40 minutes for the download. Add another 10 min to creat the installation disk. The install was totally trouble free and took only 16 minutes to complete initial install.

The last thing to do is run the update function. This took approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Maya has a snappy feel to it. Though I have no way to time it, pages seem to open quicker. I am very happy with the results.

My above post was premature. I later found a problem that I could not fix. Finally have everything working. Did it by going back to ver. 12 along with some good help at www.linuxmint.com.
