Apple today added a new section to the iTunes Store with some free goodies you might want.

The new "Free on iTunes" section includes a selection of on-the-house songs and full-length TV episodes. The new promotion comes after Apple recently discontinued its free "Single of the Week" program.

The new section currently boasts 16 complimentary songs from artists like Nude Beach, Guster, Robin Bacior, Juaz, Handmouth, Machine Head, Michelle Chamuel, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, Asking Alexandria, Hiss Golden Messenger, Thumpers, Purity Ring, Washed Out, Tobias Jesso Jr., and The Bright Light Social Hour. At this point, the most popular song of the lot is Rogue Wave's single "Eyes."

The selection of free TV episodes is a little bigger. You'll currently find gratis episodes from two dozen shows, including Fox's Blackstrom; Syfy's 12 Monkeys; Disney Junior's Miles from Tomorrowland; Disney's K.C. Undercover; BBC America's The Musketeers; and MTV's Eye Candy. Other freebies include episodes from: Bravo's Best New Restaurant and Friends to Lovers?; E's Christina Milian Turned Up; Investigation Discovery's Vanity Fair Confidential and Breaking Point; truTV's Breaking Greenville and Kart Life; Lifetime's Bring It; TLC's My Big Fat Fabulous Life and Love, Lust, or Run; the Travel Channel's Expedition Unknown and Ghost Adventures; Food Network's Ace of Cakes; Animal Planet's Rugged Justice; DIY Network's Rev Run's Renovation and Texas Flip and Move; and finally HGTV's Fixer Upper and Building Hawaii.

Apple isn't offering complete seasons for free, just a few episodes from each to whet your appetite.
