Apple's smartwatch will finally be available for purchase in U.S. retail stores later this month.

Starting in two weeks, the company will begin selling some models in its brick-and-mortar locations. Just which models remains unclear. But the news comes two months after Apple confirmed there would be no walk-in purchasing of its new smartwatch.

Consumers are still encouraged to shop all options via the online store. And now that Cupertino is making "great progress" with its backlog of Apple Watch orders, all purchases placed through May will ship within two weeks. The only, very specific exception, according to senior vice president of operations Jeff Williams, is the Apple Watch 42mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet.

Already on sale in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K., and the U.S., Cupertino's first wearable will be available in seven more countries later this month. Shoppers in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and Taiwan can pick up their Apple Watch on June 26 from the online store, retail shops, and select authorized resellers.

"The response to Apple Watch has surpassed our expectations in every way, and we are thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world," Williams said in a statement.
