Facebook this week rolled out a "Live Around the World" interactive map that showcases people who are streaming live.

Facebook Live Video Around the WorldThe new feature highlights live videos, and illustrates where in the world users are broadcasting.

Find it on top of the Apps list on Facebook.com; the map is also accessible via facebook.com/livemap.

Users can tune into some of the featured videos indexed on the left side of the page, or hover over any blue dot on the map. The bigger the dot, the more viewers that video currently has; click to expand the thumbnail and see live comments accompanying the clip.

The map currently displays a smattering of dots across the planet—mostly in the US, Western Europe, and Asia. It's unclear whether the map actually represents all videos currently streaming or just ones Facebook wants to highlight.
