WhatsApp is about to get a little more fun.

The chat app just announced support for animated GIFs, giving its 1 billion users a new way to entertain themselves. You can send GIFs saved on your iPhone in any of your 1-on-1 group chats, search for them inside the app, as well as personalize and create your own looping images.

The new GIF support is available for iPhone users starting today, and should reach Android at some point "soon," the company said.

Finding GIFs to share with your friends shouldn't be hard: You can search from a huge collection of GIFs from Giphy and Tenor right inside the app. Just tap the "+" button, select Photo & Video Library, and tap GIF at the bottom left side of the screen. From there, select your favorite from the top trending section or search for something specific.

For a more personal touch, the app also lets you turn any video on your phone into a GIF. Just choose or capture any video that is six seconds or shorter in length (be sure to trim down videos that are too long), select GIF, and tap send. iPhone users can also select 3D Touch Live Photos to send as GIFs.
