Microsoft is set to expunge Paint from Windows 10 in its forthcoming Fall Creators Update - when it finally appears.

Paint (or Paintbrush, as it was originally named) has been a part of Windows since Windows 1.0, but a new document has revealed that the Autumn Creators Update could see the familiar canvas replaced formally by Paint 3D, which made an inauspicious debut in the last Creators Update.

It's not alone in being deleted from Windows 10. Other notable programs and features that are due for removal or have been declared as depreciated include 3D Builder (replaced by Paint 3D), Outlook Express, Reader (merged into Edge), Reading List (also mereged into Edge) and IIS 6.0.

There are plenty more other apps and features that Microsoft also plans to remove when it updates Windows, all outlined here.
