Glad to have helped. It really works well. The directX is a little tricky to update, but if you follow the directions to the letter, it works flawlessly.

Question...
Big Booger...
Would you answer me a couple of questions about Longhorn "if you know" of course..?
1. I cannot get Outlook Express to save my passwords..? I tried everything i could think
of in Admin Services, Users, etc trying to find somewhere to allow permissions for this.
2. Is there anyway to keep that start-menu from popping up everytime
Windows starts up.. hehe, it drives me kindly knutz.. Lol
I read where you can't rid the bottom right portion of the screen of the
build info so i won't even ask...
Thanks a bunch man for any thing you can
Regards,
Jackpot

Try using outlook, by installing office XP or the beta office 11.
Outlook express is really screwy. I cannot even get it to work correctly with hotmail.
As for the auto popup with the start menu,
one quick fix I can think of, is customize it to reflect the classic start menu.. but then I still don't know if that will work.
Have you tried MSCONFIG and disable some of the services. I imagine it is listed in the services or startup menu. I never really noticed it until you brought it up, but it is kind of annoying now that I think about it
If I can think of anything else I will let you know.

Thanks BB for your replies.... and i already tried swithcing to classic start menu and same results... still pops up, oh well!
Same thing here too on my hotmail accnts - it laughed at me, told me My Momma and said go back to Win2k if you want anything
to work correctly, Bwahahaahaa
I will do the Office install and try to get my mail configured
thru that Outlook versio - I really hate having to use that overkill
version of Outlook, but i guess i don't have any options.
I use Web2Pop for my Yahoo accnts & Hotmail accnts but i'm striking out
left and right - So i will do the upgrade from Office.
Appreciate your words of wisdom BB,

no sweat Jackpot. If I find a fix for the popup start menu I will let you know.
As for the Outlook deal, i just tried it. It doesn't work
Outlook and outlook express seem totally screwed up.. in LH.. Perhaps in the next builds they will address these issues.
I found a really cheesy way to get rid of the build #, use a white theme... no more build number

Longhorn needs more work, that is obvious. It has come along way from the original release. Driver support, software support, etc.. should be improved... but this is a pre Alpha.. therefore it will take time to improve. when it does, you can be guaranteed the real longhorn release will most likely look far different from the current release.
Windows 2003 server really is a solid OS, as long as you need a Server as an operating system. I personally have never needed one, but soon I will. It will be a learning experience for me as it is now
