Did you install this conan? Have you noticed an improvement?

I downloaded it, but after reading the comments I am apprehensive about installing this.

    From their comments:
Remeber this a BETA patch, if it f**** your system do not complain

MS says that a patch like this don't exist.
    Beta Software? A Patch?
Maybe a worm, virus or trojan but never a MS Patch

    no performance improvement noticed ..

But many users are reporting that it improved their bootup times, and the startup of many applications..

I installed it, it's no Trojan. Things seem a bit zippier at the moment.

Most of us Nforce 2 users have installed it because it fixes a CPU usage bug where CPU usage was as high as 65% during large file transfer....now it's around 5%

Everything else is a bit faster also

I'll have to try this when I get home. I've noticed lately that when some apps shut down, windows will take a while to paint the background.....i thought it was because I had a lot of programs running, but the other day I only opened the my computer screen....

Thanks for the tip, FastGame. Having just recently installed an Asus A7N8X DL and working through a new hdd/XP Pro install I've not really taken the time to check cpu usage. I'm still working on figuring out what apps do I really need.

Thanks FG. I will, especially whenever I get to OCing!

I just took a quick peek at the Abit. On first glance...very similar to the Asus!

I installed the patch (it's just over 500K d/l) and I have noticed an improvment on load times.

I clocked the load time of Dreamweaver MX at 20 seconds before the patch and 10 seconds after.

I give it 2 thumbs up!

Me neither. Actually all my games seem to load in about the same time they used to.
