Watch Home Movies On Your Pocketpc
This from the Call For Help newsletter:
John from West Bloomfield, Michigan called to ask how to get .avi file
his home movies to play back smoothly on his PocketPC. He has a digital
camcorder and Adobe Premiere.
First get your video from the camera into the PC via a FireWire cable.
your edited move as an .avi. You'll be able to play it back in Windows
Player on your PocketPC.
Your PocketPC needs to have a fast processor, but keep in mind it will
be slower than your PC. Huge amounts of data won't fit in its memory
the bus and processor speeds won't be fast enough to watch full-frame
The video will begin to drop frames and look choppy if you try. So,
need to do a couple things to your .avi.
+ Save it at 15 frames per second.
+ Compress the video as much as you can.
+ Compress the audio even more.
Interesting enough, I wonder when pocket Pcs will become powerful enough to run DVDs, etc.. through of course some kind of external interfaces.

all bets are off...
I'm sure it's only a matter of time. 3G mobile phones can stream video already can't they?

3G phones can already stream it, but the quality is not so good.. Soon, though I think it will take off and the quality will most likely improve.
