    new computer problem!

Hey all, it's been awhile, but I have a new problem.

My cd's are skipping. I did some searching and really didn't come up with much ( or answers I don't want to hear ) anyway, I searched for new drivers and came up empty. Games, and burning works fine.

    philips cdd 4801 cd-r/rw
    driver I have 5.1

Any advice you guys have is always appreciated!

Is it just CD Audio that is skipping or MP3s also? Do you know what brand/model your soundcard is?

If you are using Windows Media Player to play them, try disabling or enabling Digital Audio Playback. Go to Tools menu and choose Options. Then click the CD Audio tab and uncheck (or check) Digital Playback and see if it makes a difference.

The Digital vs Analog debate has been done before Sift through this for some answers.
