They may not be looking for you......yet

If you also placed the IP's in your Firewall, they are blocked before they even get to Peer Guardian.

I don't have any IP blocks in Sygate because it decided to hide from my tray again - so I reinstalled and forgot to add IP range. I should be getting, at least, double-click showing up. What are some sites that use double-click - so I can check this?

lol - Well, I would like to see it work - if i'm going to leave it on, using resources, I want it to work. So far, not one single block - makes me believe it's not on - or maybe it's not set up right.

*edit - also, i'm wondering why PG is still using an incredible amount of CPU (average 70-90) - I though that was supposed to be fixed.

, actually, I haven't been getting any hits either lately. I left it on for two days now, and nothing.

So I wouldn't worry about it. they have over 60 million IP addresses, that some change rather frequently, to choose from..

Imagine if each user had 4 Ip addys to use, that'd be 240 million IP address to scan.. quite a few.

I haven't been hit lately either. The last one I got hit with was BayTSP (oh oh ) a few days back.

I have IP list in my Sygate as well so sometimes I won't be hit for a few days. It's probably the worm that has people worrying about other things right now.

I've started to get the high cpu processing as well. I've decided to go back to version 1.97 until the new one comes out.

I find that this new version is slightly better on resources than 1.97, on my machine - but still, much too high.

    **edit - hehe, now it's working - blocked 6 - all doubleclick.

Peer guardian works swell. As does the sygate rules.

Just make sure to keep them up-to-date, and if you are paranoid, use both.

Peer Gardian was highlighted today on "The Screen Savers" TV show. This summary was posted in their show notes.

    Dark Tip: Block the RIAA

PeerGuardian is a free program that hides your file sharing from known RIAA informants.

    By Kevin Rose

You have a firewall to keep out hackers, so why not have a firewall to keep out the RIAA? If you're running Windows, PeerGuardian does just that.

Keep RIAA informants off your case

Each time you launch PeerGuardian, it downloads the latest list of known RIAA informants and blocks them from connecting to your computer. The list contains hundreds of known IP-address ranges the RIAA has used to catch file swappers.

Does PeerGuardian offer 100 percent protection? No. If an unknown RIAA informant sneaks through, you're still busted.

Remember, the best way to not get caught is to not share pirated files. Support the musicians or movies you love and pick up a CD or DVD. Then share it. (Just kidding.)

    Grab PeerGuardian now. It's free!

My Peer Guardian 1.99 shows no alerts in the main window, yet there's a ton of stuff in the "View Full Collection Log". What is the purpose of the View Full Collection Log?

The Full Collection Log is a cumulation of all the blocks that have taken place since you've installed PG & had it running. You can go though it and do traces or keep as a record. When you launch PG and it opens to the screen you show it won't have blocks listed until it does block something then its added to the Collection Log, provided you have the Collection Log box checked.

BTW how did you get 607 profiles ? I only have 605....

Why does it says "blocked: 0" when there's a ton of IP's in the FCL?

    I added two IP's manually
