Question what is the better software for...

i have some music/drum/show videos. what are the better softwares to use to transfer to a dvd writer. it will be just a direct transfer from video to a dvd. no special effect etc

would adobe premiere pro be okay for special editing?

    Cityman,
I've tried Premiere 7.0, I tried Movie Maker 2, I tried a couple other video editing software applications..

The one I found the easiest was studio 8 by Pinnacle.. It was so simple to compile, edit, cut, add effects, etc...

With Premiere you have to be a damn pro and get ready to read their manual.. just to add simple transitions..

Studio 8 I could compile a video with 8 or 9 transitions, fade ins fade outs, diamond fades.. screen scrolling right or left.. beginning title, ending credits and all in under 20 or so minutes..

I highly recommend it if you are looking for simplicity. If you want something extremely powerful and complicated go with Adobe Premiere.. It is for the pros..

And Premiere is very powerful with nearly every option you can imagine.. and it has plugins galore..

You just have to learn a bit more...

the application i posted is one of the only ones out there that will make the dvd menu's etc without re-encoding the video.

Most of the ones I tried will re-encode the video regardless of what it is encoded with now.

This was not what I wanted as my video's are already encoded using the highest quality possible.

why would anyone want to re-encode?

    anyway

if your videos are already formatted properly you will need dvd author.

    unless you want blockies?

sorry for the delay in answering but the info was never used until recently.

i passed on the info to a friend of mine with disappointing results.

the first program - i do not recall its name would take the home video (which was very clear) and i could not recognize the people in the foreground.

the second program- My Sonic kept asking for a piece of hardware. i kept asking for what hardware??? and i have not received a response. i even volunteered to check it out but to no avail. i will continue to find out when i can.

so that is where it stands now.

most apps give you the option on the output in different qualities and formats like directly to dvd, svcd, vcd, streaming web, wma. So you might need to play around with it.

Now for this there should be the option for import from file, capture card, webcams, and digital camcorders. Since you have the files on your hard drive choose to import from file and browse to that location.

It would help us out greatly if you know what program your buddy is using.

Ulead Movie Factory was what being used.

i called my friend this morning and this was the answer.

it seemed when one sees the images on the computer screen/monitor, the computer does not know the number of pixels it needs to show.

but when the dvd is actually shown on the actual screen the quality is good.

thanks everyone for the excellent response.
