Question I need a cable, not sure what it is.

    hi

i am looking for a specific cable. it is one cable used to connect usb/audio(mic&output)/firewire to computer cases that have those ports on the front.

this particular one im looking for connects directly to the motherboard and the part that connects to the front panel i/o is a 35 PIN connector.

im not sure what its called, and i have no idea where to find them.

    please help.
    thank you

can you post your motherboard model number?

and a description of where the plug is on the motherboard?

this will help the members diagnose the problem efficiently and help you locate the correct cable if it is available.

This site specializes in cables and cable adapters. If it can't be found at Dalco it can't be found.

well..i looked at dalco but couldnt find it, but i scanned a cable that looks very simialr to the one im trying to find, maybe this will help a little bit more.

it connects the front panel with the extra open connectors on the motherboard.

dont know if they mass produce these or not...i dont even know what its called to search for it.

Two bits of info we need:

    Case name?

    Motherboard brand?

Once you supply those two tiny bits of information, finding the appropriate cable/connector should be easier.

But in the meantime, give the following site a try:
    http://www.frontx.com/

Specifically you can order each cable individually:

well, the case..i s made by hugebee i think...heres the link:
    http://internetishop.com/product_det...CA-AL400-BK-CA

and the mobo is a Biostar M7NCD.

the connection to the case is my main concern, the connectors to the motherboard are pretty standard. as you can see in the scanned diagram of a cable that is similar to what im looking for.

    hope this helps.

    http://www.hugebeegroup.com/contact.asp

Try contacting hugebee group directly and see if they can send you a replacement cable. Did the case come without it? Was it damaged? Did you lose it?

They should be able to get you in touch with a supplier.. but this may be impossible..

If that doesn't work, these cables are case specific usually. Nearly every case has a different front panel..

So your best bet would be to purchase the cables individually:

    I recommend frontx:
    http://www.frontx.com/order_a.html

Once you get the cables purchased for your front panel, You can remove the front panel that is mounted and mount your own.

You can also purchase a front panel kit from frontx as well.

Another idea would be to skip the existing unit and install a front panel kit into a 5" drive bay:
    http://www.directron.com/usbport.html

You'll need the biostar jumper manual to wire it up correctly:
    http://www.biostar.com.tw/products/m...cd/j_m7ncd.exe

    Hope that helps.
