internet measuring sites and/or tools
well I got the dsl installed and is working out great. but would like to know any apps or sites that I can test the down/upload speeds to see if I'm getting the speeds that they promised. uploading and downing are quite a bit quicker but actual surfing pages seem to load slowly...oh yeah gaming is working awesome was getting 40-60 pings in Breakthru.

Your download speed : 1249562 bps, or 1249 kbps.
A 152.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 517464 bps, or 517 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

A 38.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 191296 bps, or 191 kbps

The Beast Master
you will hear that the guaranteed speed is from your location to the central office that is sending your service. They can not guarantee the signal speed once it goes out of their area. this is how sbc baffels you with bullshit.

Also, Phish try testing at different times of the day.. I am sure you will see the speeds will vary.
Honestly try this link:
Use a download meter, and it will show you your real speed. I average 300-400kilobits more with that method.

this is whats weird on the modem it says to keep the modem on for 10 days to maximize the speed. You guys having any ideas why that would matter. does it take time to condition the lines. I thought as soon as you plug the node in your set.

That is the biggest load of poppycock I have ever heard..
Your average over a 10 day period should improve.. depending on the time that you are using your connection.
