    Lacie trouble

I've recently inherited an external Lacie 20GB HDD. When I was given the installation CD I was told it didn't have the correct USB drivers (silverlining98) - but I could download them... Ok, pretty straightforward - I've now downloaded the drivers and done an install but I'm getting nothing!
I've downloaded all I can from Lacie and I've tried uninstall and reinstall but to no avail...
Any suggestions would be gratefully received,

    thanks,
    dt

you can get your usb drivers here

you may need to referr to your manual to select the maker of your usb chip

    note
a quick search on google turned up numerous complaints of usb devices having problems with your board. here and here.

it's very rare to see many complaints on the google web search and usually you would see complaints mostly in the google groups. this is a good indication that your not alone.

windows second edition comes with internet explorer 5 is more stable and comes with connection sharing. much more info here

    Lacie update -

I've installed, re-installed, removed etc etc... After a few attempts and having changed the USB slot a couple of times my machine recognised it and I gained access! And then the next time I booted up...nothing... I'm not giving up, but I'm not actually that bothered anymore! Got what I needed from the hdd..

When I eventually get round to upgrading I'll just get a big old 120gb HDD...

Cheers to the techzonez mob for help and patience...
