    Amd K6-2

    i need some help i have a AMD K6-2 450 mhz cpu in my hands and i want a mobo to accomidate it, but not just any mobo it has to hold the fastest type of memory it can, i need to build me a desktop and havent had luck finding a mobo to fit such a old cpu, can any help?

    well my son's is a k-2 550 and its in a diamond mobo with pc-100 ram. I think it supports 133.

    thnx BB phish were do you get a mobo like yours, i like the asus one wouldnt mine seeing both side by side =) lol im thiking of throwing a volcano 11 on this lil guy and artic silver 5,

    got it from a local store few yrs back but I'll tell you now no OC'ing this thing and all you need is a little 60mm fan is enough to keep it cool. I've been looking for ram for this but nowadays the pc100 is more than the ddr go figure.

    lol yeah, well i found the board i want but i need some slueths to find the 2 mb l2 cache ones lol the boards name is FIC PA-2013 its very stable overclocker,and can use cachable ares of 256 mb, lol but i gota find the the 2 mb L2 version,

    I used that board acutally the plus version for my K6-2 300 @ 450.

    They were all ok back then, with supporting pc-133, but those CPUs were only 100fsb anyway. SW should call some PC recylers and ask if they have old MBs.

    lol im trying but no one has that board on hand and have no idea how to get one lol,
