    Virtual CD/DVD issues

Not sure if this is software or technically hardware : but here goes:

I've been using Nero's ImageDrive since christmas or so, the time i got a dvd-/+rw drive (its a Lite-On DVDRW LDW-411S). I'd burn .nrg images with it and use them virtually (mainly to prolong dvd rentals ) and there were no problems whatsoever.

The other night, I rebooted for whatever reason and when i went to load up an image, ImageDrive said it wasn't properly installed and to reinstall it. I did so and now whenever i go to enable a vcd or vdvd drive, i immediately get a blue screen. The screen doesn't stay up long enough to record in any way, though i've gleaned "physical memory dump" or the like.

So i thought to myself, "fine, ImageDrive must be six kinds of f'ed up, lets try something else. Installed Virtual CD 5.01 and it did exactly the same thing. Leads me to believe its a driver issue or something (it's always a driver issue), but i'm totally lost.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

yeah its caused my sys to BSOD to a point were i could not laod windows and had to reformat, if you want the info it show in the bsod go to my computer/advanced/startup&recovery uncheck restart automaticly, and chose no dump file that way it saves on hd space, if you have over 1 gb of ram it makes a file that huge in the windows dir, with a .dmp extenstion, you could do a search to get rid of it, another thing you can try is uninstall all virutal software you use and load alcohol 120%, it works great for all my virtual cd needs,

Ah. Well, Alcohol (which I already had on here) inexplicably works. Why Nero and and VCD don't work is beyond me, but why ask questions, right?

    Thanks!!
