Mystery Item in System Configuration Utility
In my system configuration utility (msconfig) there is an item under the start up tab (which I just disabled) that has no identifying name or tag whatsoever.
So under “Start Up Item” and “Command” there is nothing, just blank space, under the “location” there is “SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run”
All the other items are named such as “Nero Check” and so on, but in this item there is nothing, only the box to check it or not and the information under location.
Any idea what this is about?
Thanks

If a startup item is labeled with a space it can mean that the startup item is named with a number of spaces or that the default entry @ in the registry has been labeled with an empty string. The first case could mean a malware infection the second case doesn't really matter but may have been caused by removal of some malware which hijacked the @ entry for HKLM\SOFTWARE\Windows\Current Version\Run - some adwares and virii do this.

Sonic CD burning SW also leaves a startup entry like that.

Use Free Regcleaner
In MSCONFIG make sure the item is checked, open regcleaner> Startup List and remove the entry.
