Betas on irc.Elite-IRC.net have finally leaked the long awaited Codename "Freestyle" Windows XP Media Center Edition!
There are several download locations already, and big thanks to everyone hosting these files, but atm, they are all down! ieXbeta will find some more links for you, and post them here ASAP!
Be sure to reply to this post if you have any links!

Question, I remember reading somewhere that Media Center will prevent you from sharing mp3's in preinstalled PC's, how will it affect us?

I was sharing MP3's today on Kazaa.. seems to be working fine. I think MS changed something with that but I am not sure.
I can also tell you this, this is a beta version and has been time bombed. To defeat the time bomb the installer resets your clock on every boot to July 1, 2002...
YOu have been warned. It works great though. If I had the remote and such it would most likely work out great.
I set up the internet, can browse my videos and pictures and do TV out..
Really I don't see what this does any better than windows XP does right now, other than making it really simple for the average PC user. The interface is clean and reminds me a lot of the Windows Media Player 9.
There will be a final leak very soon, as soon as I get the link I will post it.

I installed it and it reset my clock back to 7th January 2002.

not sure if I still am hung over..but whats it for for watching cable tv?
