Different Task Manager Problem
I have a problem with my Task Manager. The window that comes up when I hit ctrl+alt+delete is one where I can only choose to logoff the user or disconnect the user. It used to be where I could end programs that weren't responding and you know...the NORMAL window. Heh... Any idea what the problem is?!???
Thanks,

Is there not a Task Manager button on your log off window when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del ??
Have you changed your settings recently in User Accounts ??

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts.
Click the "Change the way users log on or off" link and put a check next to Use the welcome screen, then click the Apply Options button.
Now try Ctrl+Alt+Del

New Problem
Hi everyone... New to the forums.
I'm having a problem with my task manager. When i press ctrl+alt+delete my TM window will pop up for a brief moment and then close itself without me clicking anything. I'm also having the same probelm when I Start>Run>MsConfig. The window will pop for a brief time then close itself just like the TM window. I've used AVG and spybot to search my computer for viruses that might be causing this problem.. I have found none. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

still not working
Reverend,
I tried what you said and it's still not coming up right. My only choices are to disconnect the user or logoff the user. I don't understand why it's like this?!

Try creating a new user account and see if the same thing happens in it.
