[A] This is as far as I got. Is there any way I can find out my administrative password, if it is not the password I sign in with? Is there any way I can change it or delete it?Originally Posted by coathanger007

You mean you dont remember the admin password you set? Then how do you log into windows? In the recovery console it asks for a password, thats true. It should be the same one you use to log into windows, unless you have 2 admin profiles...

log into Windows. I used it for the recovery console. The recovery console
said "wrong password". I do not have 2 administrative passwords, to my
knowledge. Thanks for the replies.
Any advice? Thanks
How about if it ask for password you don't put anything in and just press enter ?
Fastgame poses a great question. I've had customers that were able to get past that just by hitting the "enter" key with no password input.
I pressed ENTER. It went without the password.
"Quote "Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" appears on the startup menu
Logon to recovery console then type:
ren c:\boot.ini c:\bootno.ini
Reboot." <<< This is where it stopped. How do you reboot it in the recovery console? >>>
Thanks for the replies.
Type 'exit'. It is that simple

I typed
ren c:\boot.ini c:\bootno.ini exit
Then I pressed Enter. It said not a valid command. I then typed
ren c:\boot.ini c:\bootno.ini
It said not a valid command.
Then I typed
Exit
It did not do what coathanger said it would.
All advice welcomed.
Thanks for the replies.
It just booted up as usual. I did not get a warning. It did not install the file from the CD.Originally Posted by coathanger007

Save your important files and reformat.
After having checked the attachment you posted, i would recommed the same as Conan said. Having a corrupt windows kernel is no good.
