hiya can someone please help me, something has installed itself onto my pc (ntzl application in my c drive and NTZL.EXE-054E30B9.pf data file in windows/prefetch),i was searching the web for something for my son and my sygate popped up asking me if i would like ntzl.exe to access the internet, not seeing this before i searched what it was, one site said it was CoolWebSearch while another said it was hijacker. i ran ad aware and spybot and both failed to recognise it. Has anyone got any idea what it could be and how to remove it.

Hello
Download CWShredder and run it. Then get HijackThis 1.99.1 run it and post the log file. What Anti-virus are you using ? When firewall pops up with a notice, always say no until you know what the program is. |

Hi starry
I'm going to have you do Hijack This again but this time do this first... Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders" Click "Apply" then "OK" When you get the new HJ log you can edit your old post (delete old log) with the new log, that way you won't lose 2 post

Ok, go to Task manager and make sure "ntzl.exe" isn't a running processes, if it is then kill it, navigate to c:\ntzl.exe and delete (or re-name) it manually.
Other than that you look pretty clean to my eye's

Good to hear
![]() You should turn off System Restore to make sure it doesn't have the infection, then turn it back on. Also might want to use a reg cleaner. Good luck
