Does RBF cost anything?

RBF is absolutely free. RBF follows the standard GNU licensing.

How can this program be used?

RBF can be used to test your router's password. Some people use it test out their WIFI router as they war drive, while others use it against their LAN router. RBF can also be used to test out your website's password strength.

Sounds great, what do I need?

An operating system that supports java 1.4.x. You can download java for free at:

For those looking for RBF, the link above hosts a similar program. Unfortunately RBF has disappeared... If you have links for it, let me know by posting here.

Brute forcing router passwords then changing their setup and rebooting them over the web may be may be strangely amusing but is unethical.

Some older routers based on the connexant chipset can be reset without even knowing the password by accessing the setup on a different port. If you have a older connexant based router try telnetting into it on port 254 - if it's vulnerable you will see. Please don't go scanning your subnets for open port 254 and resetting peoples routers though that would be extremely rude.

The website is out of date so I've renamed it to index2.html, http://www.darkcoder.com/rbf/index2.html ... When I get time I may update the site and post it but until then here are the apps:

Router Brute Force command line version: http://www.darkcoder.com/rbf/jars/Ro...Force_0.1d.jar

Router Brute Force GUI version:
http://www.darkcoder.com/rbf/jars/Ro...ceGUI_0.1d.jar
