To use yahoo with OE you gotta pay them and subscribe to their POP service. Doesn't OE configure the HTTP server automatically for Hotmail ?Quote:

One of these links should help you configure your Outlook Express to work with Hotmail.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...xpress+hotmail
You can use the following Trick:
Important: When trying to increase your limit, you may be loosing all emails stored in your hotmail inbox, so please follow the instructions below prior to go into the increasing procedure.
All your emails in the mail box may be deleted as the new account settings will REFRESH your inbox. Please backup your emails before proceding.
One method for backing up is, first of all make an extra folder in your mail box, and move your emails from your inbox to that newly created folder.
However there is no need to backup your addressbook or msn messenger contacts, they will remain unchanged.
GOOD LUCK.
To increase Hotmail Account Limit to 250mb
Follow these steps..!!
Login ur hotmail account and go to options.
Go to "Personal"
Click "My Profile"
Change Country to "United States"
Wait for browser to load United states settings.
Change the state to "Florida" and zip code "33332"
Click "update"
Click "Continue"
Go to "Language" and make sure its "English"
Paste the following link in the same browser and hit go.
http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com/...n/Accountclose
Wait until the Screen says you're Hotmail is Closed and scheduled to be deleted.
Click "Close Account".
Go back to login page and relogin to ur hotmail account..!!
Your account size will now increase to 25 MB which a month later becomes 250 mb.
Good Luck..!!
PS.It worked, however i guess the Florida thing is simply a diversion because new hotmail accounts are given 250 by default now. So the trick is to actually "de-activate and re-activate the account" only !
Dont worry i have tried it and it worked before sending to you.
I followed your instructions and it's at 25mb now.Quote:

I am glad to know that the "trick" has worked for you guys.
I've been waiting all this time and still no sign of the 250 megs.
No, I don't want to try any tricks to get what I'm not supposed to get  Gmail for me from now on
My sister's account hasn't get upgraded yet, either. But she did not try any tricks. She did not known even that hotmail has been upgrading to 250 (What you don't know, doesn't hurt ) :p
I havent got my 250mb till now. Ive tried 'loire' in france, and some state/region is australia (dont remember). Im still waiting............................
I have gmail, but still - its nasty not to have 250mb when so many of my friends who dont even know they had 250mb have 250mb.
they should give space out based on usage or something.
funny...i have a feeling they realized wat was going on and disabled the upgrade to accounts which logged a change in profile in the recent past...
or maybe if they are doing it by region they migh have passed the region u selected.. and u might need to try another one..
The trick worked like a charm for me, thanks.Quote:

but none provides access thru Outlook or Outlook Express (or thunderbird, or whatever) for the free service. Recently I got a notice from Hotmail that they will stop the Outlook OE access for free new accounts
Gmail provides free pop3 access for OE, Outlook, thunderbird, etc :)Quote:

Yoo guys, pliz help me... :(
i try to upgrade my msn account by changing the country to united state, and wrote florida, zip code 33332... but when it ask for closing account... error "Due to an internal error your request cannot be processed.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later"
so what happen?
i have hotmail ([email protected]) account too, and it works. :D
can you guys help me? is there another way to upgrade my msn account? thanks! :(
The same happened with me as well but I kept on trying and I can't remember exactly wat I did that night but the next day when I opened my account it was nt 250 MB but 2000 MB.Beleave me or nt but it is true.I again tried it on a couple of my friends accounts but it did'nt worked.
I guess it is due to some flaw as instead of 250MB free account I got 2000 MB paid (u've to pay some 17$ yearly ) account for free.
I,m sure the Guru's would've noted that pt and will be trying to exploit that flaw.
interestingly, just like hotmail users said, as long as you changed your location, the space was automatically updated to 250MB during registeration, mmm. I really think, for get it,what should I do first is to change my nationality to other countries.
250 MB here
www.aim.com is now offering 2GB. But I don't know why it would be preferable to Gmail.
I am happy -

Wonder what I should use now, hotmail or gmail...
Hi There Folks I don't know if it is going to work with you, it did work with me to increase from 2MB to 25Mb, and I did it by the following procedure.
First I Check In my Account and went to the options tab, after that I went to my profile and moved myself to New York.
I did set up even a postal code and apply the changes to my profile.
After that I just check out and a few days later my inbox was increased to 25mb.
Hope this help you to have a little bit more, even if it is not the 250Mb offered by Microsoft
