Hi! As you can see...I'm new to this. I'm also new to chatting - but I've been working with computers for waaay to long!! Remember when the mouse on the side of the computer was that thing you never used? The Operating System used to be DOS? Anyway, since then I've set up a couple of networks and administered them. Now I just need to figure out all the wonderful stuff XP can do!! I know this site will help me immensely and hopefully I'll be able to repay the favor! :)

This place is really cool. Everyone has been friendly...at least so far no one has YELLED AT ME! :D

There's not alot of yelling goes on here from my experience, stones and arrows maybe, but not much yelling. ;)

Yes I remember DOS (it's still around I think ..lol), and I remember when windows first came out.
I installed it on my comp (which was then running Norton commmand) and it soaked up so much resource that I had to un-install it to play any games.
Games that now happily run on mobile phones..lol..

Anyway as usual I'm bantering on....

I actually still have my first Windows computer...it is a 486, and has only 8MB of RAM. It works really well...as a door stop!! :D LOL

My first computer was an 8088, 20 meg hard drive, 512k ram, 5.25 floppy drive, monochrome monitor. Bought it back in 1988.

I remember me and my dad built a heathkit that was around $1100. had that super fast modem that you put the receiver in to connect to bb's
